Fever
Fever refers to a condition of the body in which the temperature goes beyond the normal. It is also characterized by disturbance in the normal functioning of the system. It is a common ailment which occurs both in children and adults. Fever by itself is not a disease, it is a symptom and an alarming sign that something has gone wrong in our system. Most of the diseases and illnesses are caused by the breach of the balance of nature, bad habits, and neglecting, fundamental rules. Practitioners believe that acupressure can stimulate natural resistance and hence reduce fever.
Coma or fainting
Fainting is a spontaneous loss of consciousness caused by insufficient blood to the brain. The word coma simply refers to unconsciousness. This unconsciousness may be very deep, where no amount of stimulation will cause the person to respond. In other cases, however, a person who is in a coma may move, make noise, or respond to pain. The process of recovery from coma is a continuum along which a person gradually regains consciousness. Pressing a point at on the top of the foot, in the valley between the big toe and the second toe would help relieve from the fainting as the blood flow would regain. Acupressure effects on weaning indices in coma patients with ventilation support. Acupressure has been reported to have beneficial effects in patients with respiratory disease but most studies of this issue have been confined to subjective outcome measures.
Dysphasia
Dysphasia is a speech disorder in which there is impairment of speech as well as a problem of comprehension of speech. It is caused by brain damage, usually in the left side of the brain which is responsible for language and communication. Pressure points may be used to stimulate the brain and cure this problem.
