Reiki as a universal life force heals the body, mind and spirit. There are five primary effects of Reiki energy:
It brings about deep relaxation.
Dissolves energy blockages.
Detoxifies.
Supplies healing universal life-force energy.
Increases the vibrational frequency of the body.
Yet, these processes deeply interact with each other. Through deep relaxation
tension or blockages on the physical and mental-emotional plane are dissolved. Release of tension and blockages creates a normal flow of life energy in all areas including a more rapid removal of waste products and toxins. On thorough detoxification of the organism, more scope for vital processes opens up. Therefore more life energy is created, stored and used. The more life energy there is in the body, the higher its frequency becomes. Ultimately, it is through it that we come in contact with the Universal Spirit (Christ, Universal Mind, or the Goddess).
The resultant feeling of security and exaltation brings about a state of deep relaxation which grants access to levels of experience that were previously inaccessible. On the more tangible level, following beneficial effects are noticeable:
Reiki boots and improves the immune system.
It increases energy levels and vitality.
Improves the confidence level and the esteem of the self / client.
It reduces stress and relives stress as well.
It helps a client in overcoming the grieving process or emotional trauma.
Reiki can be used as a complementary therapy with conventional therapies.
It improves chronic an acute medical problems.
Promotes creativity.
Reiki is deep relaxation brought about by increased contact with the divine energy from which, under Reiki`s influence, we receive more than we could under normal circumstances. However, the person receiving the treatment determines the amount of Reiki drawn. Whoever receives Reiki energy, draws, within the given scope, the amount of life energy he needs to take in. This is a simple law, which at once also defines the limits of Reiki therapy. The psychological aspect of the patient being treated, or his conscious will to heal is one very important precondition for Reiki`s effect. He/ she may be experimental about the reiki, if not a total believer, but a total negative attitude surely dampens the positive vibes, and greatly diminishes the potential.
According to reiki philosophy (and incidentally many other holistic therapy`s too) illness arises from imbalances in the life energy in our body. Even modern science vouches for the fact that psychological makeover has much to do with physical illness. Since reiki directly deals with the being`s immune system and vitality, a positive lookout will definitely accelerate the healing process. For example, if someone has a need to experience the love of his fellow beings, and if he will not allow himself to accept this experience in a healthy way, he will sometimes choose a suitable illness as justification to then create this experience. In this way, the causal factor of a person`s illness can also be determined. Observation of the changes in his behavior and that of his social environment during the illness provides many clues.
If the sick person is prepared, even to a modest degree, to explore new areas and spheres of experience, this very willingness will be the most important starting-point for a meaningful, promising course of treatment, as it represents his will to live, which necessarily includes the will to be healthy. However, A life-threatening disease is a race against time. The challenge is to delay death until the sick person can take time to get in touch with healing energy to recover fully. Conventional medicine can fulfill this important task. Thanks to its amazing possibilities it can give this important period of time to a sick person in the case of an emergency. It can prolong life and thus give the sick person a chance to let go of his blockages in life and to live it fully.
During this period, psychotherapeutic counseling and other physical therapies, the presence of kind, loving friends who understand the situation of the sick person, as well as naturopathy and work with the techniques of Second Degree Reiki (mental treatment) can help remove the negative complexes which have cut the sick person off from any possibilities of healing so far.
The Limitations of Reiki Self-Treatment
Ironically, Many people study meditation techniques, oracle methods or learn Reiki because they fear confronting their own problems in interaction with others. However valuable various methods may be, the attitude with which one works is all-important. Methods for self-realization cannot replace direct life experience, even if they come through reiki. If one is facing serious problems with self or others, or if seemingly minor problems are actually of a serious nature, a consultation with an experienced and trusted therapist is a must. However, the patient will make faster progress in his therapy and accelerate his progress toward self-reliance, if pampered regularly with the whole body treatment with Reiki.
After having created a sound foundation by getting in touch with the true Self, continued Reiki sessions further enhances self-growth. The progress is but inevitable once being stabilized in a positive environment. The same is also true of physical disorders. In case of serious illness, it is best to consult a good allopathist, homeopath or physician specialized in naturopathy. Reiki will then act as a great support to correct treatment, and help to accelerate the healing process. But is best not to replace reiki with first aid or necessary therapies. The benefits and limitations are summarized below:
For First Degree
Possibilities:
Deep relaxation.
Release of blockages
Detoxification
Supply of universal life-force energy
Increase of the vibrational frequency
Limitations:
Recipient`s absence or lack of receptiveness
Channel could be limited to begin with, although channel gets stronger with time, and practice.
Regular sessions are desirable
Cannot give distance treatment
Need other treatments in addition to Reiki in case of serious illness.
Second Degree
Possibilities:
All possibilities of the first degree, but with a significantly higher effect.
No immediate, close contact is necessary for the Reiki session. Distance treatment possible.
Although unconscious blocks may exist, it is possible to release these blockages in the case of conscious willingness to receive mental treatment.
Limitations:
Deliberate refusal of healing
Channel may not be as strong at the beginning, although capacity increases with time.
In case the regular sessions are not possible, the effect may not be very prominent.
Should not be applied as sole treatment in acute emergencies, but is an excellent support in emergency intervention.
Will need other forms of treatment in addition to Reiki in cases of serious illness.
