 Root Chakra
Root chakra is all about personal Power. It strongly represents the will to survive. It is the source of strength for the struggle for survival. It also strengthens the species-preserving role of sexuality. No living being can develop harmoniously without a properly functioning root chakra. Other energy centers cannot assume the function of this center. In fact it provides the basic force required in the other centers in order to establish contact with the environment and its harmonious utilization for personal growth. The individual can accomplish no goal and work without the presence of this power. The will to live and survive is expressed in this center. This will is the all-important an aid to the healing process. That is why during chakra work with Reiki one should first clarify whether this important energy centers functions freely and smoothly.
Blockages in the root chakra can often result in various mental symptoms. These can be the attitude such as that of extreme pacifism, existential fear, excessive (often fanatic) aggression, Fear of death or injury ( total lack of risk taking capacity), problems with and time planning (lack of punctuality), impatience with people, and dependence (specially in relationship). Blockages in the root chakra often produce physical symptoms such as complaints of bones, teeth and spine, diseases affecting the regenerative power, diseases and complaints between the large intestine and the anus. But the most important quality in a being provided by this chakra is all essential grounding one.
Sexual Chakra
 The sexual chakra governs the self-perception. It also rules our ability to feel the world and, to be touched by all the resulting experiences. Without this perceptive faculty there would be no Eros, no sensuality, no satisfying sexual experience and no real joy of life either. The qualities are highlighted in coordination of the expression and language of the body, the ability to experience things, sensual pleasure of every kind (including enjoyment of culture and art). In short all these worthwhile faculties of the world and ourselves can only be experienced in their full vitality if our sexual chakra pulsates and works without blockages.
Blockages in the sexual chakra often result in mental symptoms such as fear of physical closeness and disgust with the body (considering sexuality as lowly and animalistic). This disgust can also express itself as obsessive washing, cleaning mania etc., incomprehension, a totally reason governed mind (Feelings have no logic and hence are unimportant). This can also result in contrast attitude of over-emphasis on spur-of-the-moment feelings (Without any governing logic in consideration). Other symptoms are Rhythmic disorders (in music and dance), Menstrual pains, isolation (renunciation of marriage or partnerships), frigidity, impotence, lacking orgiastic reflex, and fear of falling.
Whoever is incapable of perceiving his environment adequately or who experiences it as a threat will not be able to protect himself or will pretend to be dead out of fear. Blockages of the sexual chakra frequently result in physical symptoms such as diseases related to body fluids (blood, lymph, saliva, gall) or the organs processing these liquids (kidney, bladder, lymph glands). A strong susceptibility to infections can also be attributed to these blockages.
In short the key to enjoy life in its entire creative faculty is governed by sexual chakra.
If the two chakras of the earth realm are not opened in all their aspects, if they are not experienced smoothly and freely in all their functions, then the other chakras will not be able to open completely and will function in a very restricted manner.
