A Mr. Arthur Robertson, who had taken his learning under Takata lineage, introduced Raku kei in the west. Raku kei is known to encompass the energies of fire dragon and it translates as "the ways of fire dragon." It`s said that controlling these powers of dragon, was to master the mind, the self. Raku is the vertical energy flowing in the body while kei is the horizontal one. They both cross at the "Hara". The cross-formed by the Raku and Kei energy is the cross, which represents the four Cardinal Points and four elements. The Christians used this pagan form after the death of Christ and to this day `crossing oneself` is regarded as a devotional act for Christians.
Since ancient times, the oriental races have linked the dragon to the `airy` or mental aspect of our nature. Mastering the Dragon energy is mastering the mind. Whereas the fire of the dragon can provide the necessary power to drag away the demons (psychological negativities). It is this breath, with the fire being supplied by the RAKU energy that blasts away obstacles to a clear mind, thereby bringing understanding to the student and presenting a clear channel for the attunement to take place. The seven major chakra points, the seven colors of the rainbow and the seven notes of the musical scale are all connected and balanced harmoniously with the various Raku Kei symbols to create a powerful healing and development key.
The lineage goes from Usui to Hayashi to Takata to Ishikuro to Robertson. In the course, the First and Second Degree is taught as one class in which two attunements are imparted. It also teaches its unique history, precepts, hand positions, disease and treatment with Reiki. It shows how to use Master Frequency plates (with antahkarana symbol inside) to switch the polarity of the body to left giving/right receiving. Three traditional symbols are taught along with1 additional symbol, a distance healing technique and three kanji hand positions.
Third Degree is called Reiki Sensei in which one attunement is given. It also requires that the student buy one Master Frequency plate. It teaches deer exercises, attunements to all three levels of Reiki, plus a white light initiation, a breathing technique called "Breath of the Fire Dragon", 2 additional symbols, the water ceremony, use of herbs and minerals, Reiki Master Spinal Therapy.
Master/Teacher Degree is a called a Certified Reiki Sensei. In this, it is required that the student has 3 large Master Frequency Plates before taking class. This Degree is for those students who want to be Center Certified it is basically a review of the Third Degree. Every student must show proficiency in the Reiki attunement procedures, know all the symbols and must be dedicated to healing the planet. The Class requires a contractual agreement with the American Reiki Master Association.
