Reiki is a great advantage as supporting measure, in the case of treatment with Medication. Though proper documentation and tests have to be conducted, reports from various practitioners are indicative of a speedier and painless healing process when reiki is combined other form of treatment. One essential effect of Reiki is that it supports all vital processes. It stimulates the metabolism and promotes detoxification. It also induces a deep state of relaxation in the whole body, thus supporting the organism`s responsiveness on all levels. Thus conclusion that Reiki "assists" medication is but logical. However, there are set of guidelines on how to use Reiki in conjunction with medication.
Chemical (Allopathic) Drugs
Reiki softens the effect of allopathic drugs that may lead to heavy chemical side effects. Reiki, depending on the power and duration of the treatment, reduces the side effects of such treatment. Reiki treatment also enhances receptivity. If it is applied before the drug is taken, a lower dose will be sufficient for the desired effect. Although factors such as current and previous session`s intensity is to be taken in account, considerable diminishing of harmfulness with painkillers and anesthetics (which remain in the body) is known to occur. This is especially true in case of certain local anaesthetics (as in dentistry), which contain special substances that constrict the blood vessels. This keeps the anaesthetic substance in the narcotized area for a longer period of time.
Once they have served their purpose, Anaesthesia and injections can be released from the system more harmoniously with Reiki. In case of powerful painkillers given after the operation, prolonged whole body treatment should be avoided. Reiki should be given only to the region of the body that has been operated on and to organs that are under special strain. In Second Degree courses the Reiki teacher instructs participants never to use distance treatments on people undergoing operations, as the patient could wake up from anaesthesia prematurely. This also applies to First Degree treatment.
Reiki does not reduce the effect of painkillers. In fact, Reiki in itself helps in easing pains. If there is minor pain (such as headache, insect bites, sensitive teeth), Reiki may often make anaesthetic medication superfluous. Drugs that are effective if maintained in certain quantities in the blood stream, such as anticoagulants and cardiac stimulants should be treated with caution. Reiki is also quite effective in chemotherapy. This combination should only be given in consultation with a specialist, as whole body treatment may not go with certain chemicals.
Only very intensive Reiki whole body treatment has sufficient energy to reduce the effects of an allopathic drug considerably. Even if it`s the case, life enhancing effects of Reiki will not let client enter in a drastic situation. In all cases, step should be taken only under proper guidance.
Herbal Medicine (Phytotherapy)
Although herbal medicine is not classified as holistic therapy, It can work effectively with reiki to accomplish the accelerated healing in normalizing the regulative systems of the organism. However, The application of synthetic herbal substances no longer containing the life force of a herb is equal to that of allopathic medication.
Homeopathy
Homeopathic remedies truly based on homeopathic principles treat each individual as unique, and yields almost holistic effects. The treatment has a regulative effect on all dysfunctions of the organism on the physical and mental levels. Reiki, along with enhancing their action can ease initial reactions and reduce their duration. Specific Reiki work on the lymph node system as well as the eliminating organs can help prevent excessive strain and thus ensure gentle healing. Also, Reiki helps improve detoxifying process with remedies including Sulphur, Magnesium Fluoratum or nosodes.
If low potencies are given in large doses, Reiki applications such as whole body treatment will stabilize the physiological blood level of the respective substance(s). It is achieved by accelerating the elimination of substances that are not wholesome for the body. Reiki often enhances the body`s responsiveness in the case of homeopathic remedies. Frequent application, whether on the giving or receiving end, will make the organism more sensitive to their effects. As a result, with time, the prescriptions move in the direction of higher potencies and smaller doses and from animal substances to mineral and metallic ones. Also, symptoms generally appear in a clearer form after prolonged Reiki application.
Homeopathy finds its limits wherever organisms cannot mobilize sufficient self-healing energy. Here Reiki whole body treatment and specific Reiki work on the root chakra may be of great help. After prolonged homeopathic treatment, Reiki may also be applied along with the respective remedies to strengthen the organism, and thus shortens the convalescent period.
Spagyrism
Spagyrism is a healing therapy that uses alchemic principles and techniques in the manufacture of drugs. The system used for the prescription of these remedies has a certain affinity to homeopathy and Phytotherapy, but cannot be explained by the concepts on which they are based. Spagyrism acts as a holistic therapy if the production and prescription of drugs is according to the principles of this method of treatment. According to many practitioners` experiences, Reiki considerably reduces the period of application and the dose. As in homeopathy, detoxifying therapies are also supported by reiki whole body treatment. Also, charging spagyrical drugs with Reiki tends to increase their effect.
