Part 1
Dr. Mikao Usui holds that humans are the most highly developed beings in existence and that the Reiki force flows through people for the good of the whole. This suggests that everything in this universe is related to ev-erything else in same mysterious way and an invisible bond connects each one of us with all of life. This bond immediately extends to animals as when giving treatment one becomes involved in the life and death of this living being and in this way assumes full responsibility for his / her own actions.
Technique:
This technique can help in the treatment of an animal of any size, from an ant to a zebra.
If the animal is large enough, placement of hands on the area of the body that is preferred should be done as the organs of animals are arranged similarly to those of human beings. For small animals one can cover some or even all of the inner organs with one hand position.
The animal specifies the length of the treatment. As soon as it becomes restless you know that the end of the treatment is approaching.
(As with human beings, 20 to 60 minutes and longer treatment should be given, if necessary.)
Limitation
Reiki does not replace the vet. In cases of infec-tious and life-threatening illnesses, it is absolutely necessary to consult a qualified veterinarian. The suffering of animals may be relieved in this way and they are grateful for it. Animals like Reiki. The most important thing in dealing with ani-mals is to love them and not be afraid of them. Anyone who does not like animals would be safer leaving their treatment to someone else.
Treating Animals with Reiki 2 (Distance healing)
This technique can be used to heal animals that either cannot be touched for reasons of safety or because they are somewhere else. Animals cannot ask for help, particularly wild animals. In this case we must decide what is best for the animal and our own health in the moment.
Technique:
Stand or sit in a relaxed manner with both feet parallel to each other and take several deep breaths.
Draw the distance-treatment symbol once in the way that is most comfortable for you and mentally repeat the corresponding Mantra three times.
Repeat the name for the species of the animal to be treated three times. For example, say: "Eagle, Eagle, Eagle"
Send the mental-healing symbol to the animal.
Seal everything with the power symbol. Draw it once and repeat the Mantra of the symbol three times.
Treat either the injured parts of the body of the animal or give it a whole-body treatment.
Let the breath flow into the treatment.
Length of treatment
The same as for human beings, 20 to 60 min-utes and longer if necessary. Otherwise until the animal becomes restless and leaves on its own accord.
Limitation:
Reiki does not replace the vet. In cases of infectious and life-threatening illnesses it is absolutely necessary to consult a qualified veterinarian doctor. Treating animal with distance Reiki requires same preconditions as for distance Reiki with a human client. A single treat-ment can be very successful but most cases require treating the animal at least once a day for a week.
